It is an early 40's Ford Flathead six. Fully marinised from new. Complete with reduction box. It was fitted to the boat and then removed a year later to be replaced with a flathead V8 which was in turn replaced with an OHV V8. It has not run since the late 40's but has been in dry storage and turned all the time. It turns freely and the oil in it is super clean. We have no idea at all what we are going to do with it at the moment. But at least we have it! It came with spare gaskets and enough books to start a library. Then there were all the old flathead V8 intakes and Y block stuff that came with it. Freebie
Whatever you do, don't put it in a car with a closed fenders. It needs t be seen. I also think the exhaust manifold should stay put. Everybody has normal exhaust... nobody has THAT. Use a marine gauge cluster, windshield maybe and a cut down bimini top. Hmmm. Good luck. Bil
