1954 "Ranch Wagon" progress report,, carpet, panels and rear seat

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by HOTRODPRIMER, Jan 22, 2012.

  1. Made some progress on Saturday & Sunday,

Finished all the peel & stick insulation on the floors, installed the jute backing and finished all the carpet work on the wheel wells, floor and tail gate.

This carpet is not a manufactured kit,,I bought a roll of automotive carpet and my pal Dave worked his magic.

We still need to install carpet on the back of the rear seat and the bottom of the rear seat.

We are going to make floor mats after we finish the rest of the interior. HRP

    ooh! carpet! cool.

  9. Thanks guys,I appreciate the comments.

Thanks,,I bought the shifter in the late 60's and was used in my 63 1/2 Falcon Sprint for a few years before I sold th car but kept the engine & transmission.

The shifter was cut off and adapted to the 5-speed transmission in the wagon. HRP

That came out really, really nice! Good job! :)
Just a little FYI, and to keep any confusion down, that is not "jute backing". Jute looks just like a burlap sack, is difficult to find, and is rarely used anymore. That's synthetic carpet pad, and is much better...

Did you get new door sill scuff plates? If so, where and how much were they, if you don't mind my asking. They ones I have seen are a fortune.
