Well...today was a great day! Got up around 5 AM to head out with a buddy to retrieve my new 40 FORD PICKUP. Sometimes as most of you know, when your just browsing on that auction site we all know and love, the fever will strike you down. You know that impulse im talking about, when your finger on the keyboard says "NO" but something in the back of your head is telling you "You Gotta Have It"!!! This 40 runs like a clock, with a 37 Flattie, stock ****** and rear. Seems like it was well taken care of through several owners. My plans are minor upgrades like aluminum heads, intake, headers & exhaust, maybe lower it down w/dropped axle etc... and clean up the interior some. Anyway, no long.... drawn out barn/history story, just a couple of Hambers enjoying our beloved hobby! Check her out!!!
I'd love one if I could drive it. Sat in one and it would have gotten painful REAL quick. Looks good have fun!! Bill
Looks like a good truck found a new home with a smart new owner. Good luck and DRIVE IT! Congratulations, Al
AWESOME!!!!!! One of my dream trucks, I hope you keep the lettering on the door, its great. is it actually old paint? The phone number says so..
Calling all Hambers.......... any one know of any speed parts for a 21 stud center jacket FLATTIE??? Seems to be a kinda rare series of Flatheads that ran between 37 and 38 model year. Anyway I inherited it and wanna give it some LOVE! Any help would be great!!!
I love 1940's and 1941's Ford trucks. My very favorite is the 1956 Ford F-100 but thoughs 40's are just as nice. When I was 17 a local farmer had a 40 and 56 and he would only sell the 56 after much nagging on my part!
That Is A relly REALLY nice 40. For the money you will spend on those heads you could start building an 59a - When it's ready you could sell that 21 stud to a restorer . . . . . . . IMHO
D Rod, that truck is SWEET. I want my next project to be a pickup, preferably a 40, but you just don't see them for sale that often. Great Score. Drive that ****er.
I had to look it up on the auction site. You got it for a good price too! I'd pay that in a heartbeat to get it!
Congrats on a great truck. My buddy has a 40 that's gorgeous and a very similar color. I think there is a pic of it in a thread about the hot rod eruption drags, towing his vintage trailer.
The heads will be a hard find. Clean up the engine and paint it. If you want more compression you could have the heads milled. Nice truck, it'll look great with a little drop.
