So alot of you guys know that I am now in Austin (family still in KC till we get a place to live) and working on a new piece of software. Well, after 10 days and about as many nights we have just reached private beta. By private, I mean that we are trying to keep traffic fairly low why we continue to polish the product. It is VERY much a work in progress and alot of you folks prolly won't understand exactly what it is and what it is capable of - it is in beta and that means it was built purely to test functionality and not to teach and train. Go here: http://beta.shadows.com Be sure you register and download the toolbar. From there you can tag, rate, and comment on ANY website on the net. It's kinda like the HAMB taking over the world in a way... Only bigger than that. Again, this is a beta test and a private one at that. With that in mind, I would appreciate it if you didn't email the link to anyone or tell many folks about it. I will delete this thread after some time...
when I down load the toolbar it says "files corupt, please uptain new copy of files" What's that mean, besides the obvious? john
Corrupt files? That's the first instance of that I have seen... I'd try to reinstall and make sure you follow the directions on the d/l page...
That stuff is too computery for this ol boy... I still type with 1 finger. But...whatever it is...cool...we're just glad the HAMB World Headquarters is in Austin.
Hey that's really cool, Ryan! I didn't register, but read what it's about and how it works. I like the concept. One of the frustrations I have in doing searches is that often times I seek obscure data or websites in tightly focused areas (for example traditional hot rods) and the same old sites keep popping up. But I know there is more out there, and many sites I find by people posting links on sites like HAMB. I see this as an alternative to uncover sites and data not otherwise rising to the top of my searches. Good luck with this. You're gonna be the next Google boys! Remember us when you hit it REALLLLY big
I'm using mozilla (firefox is missing some features I need, and has some non-disableable features I don't want), and it doesn't seem to work. oh, well, I tried.
Is it just me, or is anyone else having problems with the toolbar when trying to make it reappear with a right-click...???
Ryan, ...and I thought you were just a car guy it's cool to see someone re-thinking the whole way we use the web. . . really impressive. this could be huge.
I use IE, and can't install it. Error message says: "Unable to register DLL/OCX: Load library failed code 31."
Are you gonna release it, then go public and then make a billion dollars? Then you can have all the 550 spyders you can think of and a whole lot more.
