Hey there, I have a 57 Fargo and used a chevy pickup power steering box, i know, I know chevy parts, but same box dodge used. It bolts to the outside of the frame, in fact I believe two of the holes lined up, I'm not sure how it would work out with a stock column as I have a tilt one in mine.

Interesting...got pictures? Do you kow what year Chevy pickup it was off of? Traditional to me is building it yourself and making what you have work just like our forefathers did...it's the American way.

    Very nice build thread.

thank you for your service, i was up at Lewis far a long time...

I also have a Dodge 55 stepside, i have been wanting to do flat black for a while, and your paint job sealed the deal for me.

what did you ever do with your disk brake issue.

i bought the rusty hope kit, but i want to do a wilwood master, and i found some 4pot willwoods that will work with the rusty hope kit

I have the Rusty Hope kit on front, 11" drums on the rear, and am using a basic Chevy dual chamber disc/drum master from like a late 70's van...seems to work great. As soon as I put the new steering column in I have an 8" dual diaphragm booster that will go on it and I'll move the master to the firewall. Hopefully make the whole system feel a little more modern as once again it's being built for a teenage girl.

    Hey guys,
New here to the forums. I have a 1955 Dodge C1 with a chevy power steering box. I can't remember which model it came from but I have had to replace it once (came with the truck). It sticks though the front inner fender (has to be cut). Hooked up to the old kingpin set up/ standard front end. Turns nice but tracks horribly. Hope this helps.

Hey how's it going. I have a '55 truck that I'm currently restoring the heater on and I'm having trouble finding a size for the screws that hold the case together... Do you by chance remember what size screws you used?

I ended up just tapping the holes a little larger if anyone runs into this issue I would just skip to that. I checked every auto parts and hardware store near me and couldn't find a bolt or screw that would fit those holes, go figure.
