I seem to remember a thread on here discussing dashboard mounting clips/solutions for 32 ford where it is secured at the cowl to dash with screws/bolts Are there special wide clips to fit in those cut outs in the cowl lip or do I need to improvise. Any help?

I may have been a part of that original thread as I too need those clips. But I seem to remember, I got a picture from a buddy of what they look like. I'll go see if I saved the pic and report back.

    Back in a bit............

Thanks Tin Man! I was thinking about making something along those lines. I thought they might have been j-clips or something..this will work!

Well there you go we never had them so didnt know they were missing ,, though did ponder what the slots were for. So our dash is just screwed in via holes that someone else had drilled long ago.

My coupe only had 3 of these, so I made these very simple brackets and they worked just fine. The screw hole is in the center, the pictures show a piece of raw material that has not been cut yet into individual brackets, the piece shown would make three brackets. They would be cut off midway between the bolt holes, overall length of each is 1 7/8". The material is 1/4" by 1/2" aluminum. The screw holes are 8 or 10-32, can't remember. The countersink in the material is for clearance for the countersunk-head screw so that it won't bottom out on the aluminum when tightening up to draw the ears up against the body. The countersink creates the clearance on mine, same as the step in the original bracket, but much easier to make on a drill press. Hope this makes sense!
