This weekend Jan 27,28,&29 is Pittsburgh World of Wheels. For those of you that don't know,it is being run like the Detroit autorama. All the fancy stuff upstairs, and a special area downstairs for Traditional rods & leadsleads and such. That area will have Rockabilly bands ,pinup contest, homeade trophys ,pinball contest etc. After the awards there is an after party at a local tavern also-------NOT your run of the mill WOW

My Wife and Sister are there sellin T-Shirts look for the UnHoly Apparel booth....... They drove all the way from Kentucky ...... in a He****.....
Glad to hear they are still holding that show. Used to go to the Civic Area lots of years ago when they held it there. That is one of my favorite things about Pittsburgh, the other is Primanti Brothers. Don
Im headed that way this weekend, Im going to be in the pinstripers charity auction. glad to hear its gonna be like detroit!! Im in that one too but pitts. is my home show and I hope its a success for everyone!!
After reading this.....I'm gonna go now. I was tired of seeing the saran wrapped tire cars being unloaded just to get loaded up again, so I haven't went there for a number of years... Might have to hit the Tilted Kilt for the first time since I'll be in the area...lol ....Thanks for the info.....Jim
Most of the cars in the traditional area were drove in not trailored ---with no windows,I'll probably freeze my *** of driving home Sunday night---supposed to be pretty cold --Oh well,I'm still alive!!
Gary im 4 hrs away do you think its worth coming for. I like anything with wheels but if its only 30 or so cars thats alot of gas money to drive out there. Is there vendors and is everything still going on sunday cause thats when i would be able to come.
I'm going to be truthful with you---I haven't gone to a WOW show for many years, because it was always jut all glitter and plastic. Last year my son went and came home telling me all about the "downstairs" and thats what made me decide to go this year There will br Vendors, but don't think there is a swap area Sundays hours are 11:00am till 7:00pm Here is a link to last years show http://public.fotki.com/wcsr/wcsr-2007/world-of-wheels-pit/ Look me up if you come Gary
I am another HAMB'er down there. Across from Richie. We walked around and while not everything is HAMB friendly, there does seem to be a good showing of some vintage tin. Not all ricers and donks like in previous years. At least there werent on Wed. night. Think it will be worth the price of admission this year.
Heres some more from tonight. The show has gotten alot better the past couple years since they have the tradition cars down stairs. Its worth checking it out.
Thanks for the pics. I got some free tickets for the one in KC this Feb. Never been before, should be fun.
Me and some guys are going down Sunday and check things out Have been going for a couple of years. Didn't see any major name cars being featured there. There is usually a good mix of vehicles to look at though.
We made our way out there this evening. It was okay, size wise, but no shocker. I still would like to see a bigger showing. I know there are tons more great cars in the area.
Very good show, had a great time. Will try & post some pics tomorrow. Billy really turned this show around.
this is looking like a super cool venue shaping up for the W.O.W. event. They always provide a nice ***ortment of turntable cars for the general publics amazement, and have become aware of how important this more lowbrow section is to the participation of us good ol hot rodderand customizers. Our Omaha section of the show with the "old school" at***ude is the reason most of us participate these days. Looks like that one is shaping up very nicely, I want to see more of that Pontiac fastback in green tutone configuration, please photo up this section more if possible, thanx. Rock n Roll gang, show'em what WE are about! ~sololobo~
