In 1964, my grandpa Earl helped flat tow a 29 tudor sedan home that my Uncle Elmer bought for 35 bucks. Uncle Elmer rebuilt the banger and drove around the block a few times that year before it sat in his ba*****t garage until shortly after he p***ed away in 2000. Then it went to my cousin's farm until two weeks ago when I bought it. While my cousin had it he managed to get it running again but didn't have the interest in finishing it.

Last month, my Grandpa and I went to go look at the car, I decided I wanted it. The car was all together except for the hood, grill shell and headlights off. It had cool 58 plates on it, set of 35 wire wheels with it. I was anxious to get it home and start making my own personal changes to it. I will post pics...

And here are a few pics from today after the 4" drop axle. The tires and wheels belong to a friend that let me borrow them for mock-up.. Right now in these pictures the rear sits with the original spring with 4 leaves out (just for looks). Does anyone have any input on "T" springs?? thanks!

4.50 front and 7.50 rear, 16" wheels. Front spring is original except i had the spring shop make a new reversed eye main leaf for it and i took 3 leaves out in that pic.

Sweet looking A! Are you keeping the banger in it?

I'd definitely keep the raked look and leave it at that height if you can.

Please tell me the wires are going back on it too!

Reminds me of when I was 15, great old man lived down the street named Elmer Lore GAVE me a 29 tudor. No rust, all original. My mom made me give it back because she didn't want another old car sitting around. I already had a 55 Ford truck I was working on. Should have sold the 55. People named Elmer ROCK..........

Thanks man! Plan is to keep the banger in it, juice brakes, and possibly a t5 to torque tube adaptation. Car sits exactly how i wanted it right now, might be too low but i'll find out when i get to drive it. The wires are already paid for so i'm going to use them! Although i think the steel wheels look bad *** too!

Thanks everybody for the kind/encouraging words on the "A". I'm currently figuring out my steering and shocks, then going to move onto the brakes. I'm thinking of using part of the old mechanical pedal arm to adapt to a dual master cylinder so i can keep the original pedals in the car..

    Toqwik, that's a cool story !

not yet, the tie rod is too close to the x-member. Might have to go with dropped arms which will put the tie rod under the bones, but then the tie rod would be lower than the axle. heres a few pics

Klaz, thanks for some ideas, that would be a way around it for sure, but my concern would be that the bends would stress the tie rod over time or flex too much. I think i'll probably end up buying dropped arms to go below the bones...
