Now I've been watching this thread for a bunch of days now and I wasn't going to add my $.02 since it's your car but what the hell!

Honestly the only thing that car needs is the right tires. The radials are the only thing that is jumping out to me as something that needs to be changed. If you were to put 8.20's out back and 5.60's up front (both firestone) it would totally change the look of that car for the better.

What would be even cooler would be to have Cody at Hurst racing make you up a set of medium WW 8.20's cheater slicks for the back and run medium WW firestones from coker up front and you'd be sitting pretty. The bias ply tires are taller and fill up that wheel well better then radials do.

I wouldn't spend the money on wheels when you have such awesome wheels on there now and they're probably not going to get much cooler then those. It's all in the tire man!!!

Oh and keep the "CLUB" it's a nice touch haha!!!!

I have to do the x2 on having Cody do up some cheaters for the car, but I would still go with the mag type wheel and no white wall... I certainly would keep the current combo as well (which I think was the idea all along) and go back and forth bwith the looks. Damn near every car I have built I have set up to do the same! At one point, my Plymouth had four different sets of tires and wheels to switch the look at will. Another opinion, radials on a full fendered car would stay. The only time you need to deal with bias ply is on a traditional fenderless car where the wheels and tires can be seen. Plenty of radials in the right height to width ratios to fill a fender well correctly.

Ive got Halibrands because they are halibrands, and i wanted small window, BUT, I think I would go Real Rodder now, as said already, new wheel, no risks of cracks or mag decay. Easy enough to make look mag if that's what you're after. Cool car by the way.

  5. My car pictures and two post back. Thanks

  6. Got to love the club, LOL .. thanks for the 2 cents worth there Jeremy..great ideas, and I have been kicking that around also. I spoke to Pat at Real Rodder (nice guy)today.. I received some good info, 15 x 5.5 out front, and he recommends a 15x8 in the rear.. Right now running 3" back spacing up front and the rear are 4" back spacing.. He said to go 15 x 8 with a 4 5/8" back space.. Tires, Firestones for sure... Cheater slick maybe not... I want to drive the snot out of it and have fun !!

Thank you man! I remember your car in Street Rodder.....totally bitchin'

Sorry for the thread derail.....resume, please!

For the record, I second the second set of rollers....REAL RODDERS WHEELS

  9. The real rodders are beautiful. That mag like finish on the aluminium is just stunning when next to regular polished aluminium. The alloy and casting process is of higher quality and specifications, but you better check on that being done here in the USA. I bet you'll be ........

I have studied your little car since the beginning of this thread and I have to agree with JeffreyJames. I think what might be turning you off about your current set up is the tires. They suck. A nice fat whitewall on bias plys would be way more better than the thinwall radials. Maybe a set of bitchn Firestones from Coker?

Also, the more I look at your car, I think it needs to come down two inches in front. With the car a touch lower and minus the radials, you might not want to change the wheels.

On the other hand, a set of Sprints all the way around would still be cool.....

Whatever you do, post lots of pics.

  11. Abone, will do !!! I was looking at some of my 60's Hot Rods & Rod & Customs. I was going the early 60's route.. I couldn't find a white wall width that matched in the tire sizes I wanted.. But I'm going to do little more research.. Blackwall for sure.

  12. Ok so I'm going with the Real Rodders( waiting for some $$$$ on O.T car I have sold) Just need to decide as cast or polished ???

I'm going with cast on my 35 Tudor. I'm still trying to figure wheel sizes. I want to go as wide as possible in back without complications. I have a Granada width 9 inch housing under it.

With the 4 1/2" back space wheel I think you should be able to fit an 8" on the back of your car. I would spend some quality time with a tpae measure though to double check.

  16. Chip, You don't know my good friend Rob. He don't know how to read a tape measure. Just kidding Rob. I think you should take my suggestion that I made on the phone the other day. As cast, then garnet blasted ,and scotchbrite then rubbed with Gibbs. Will look ancient. Cool. Done. If you were here I would do it for you pal. Buy them and have them sent to me. I'll do the work for you. That's the kind of pal I am.

I was hoping for an 8 1/2 Torque Thrust out back and maybe 6 in front. it's getting a stock width T-bird power Mustang II style rack up front. Haven't hung the fenders yet so it's all talk at this point.

  19. No, But I want to it to his. I know it will work. I had an old set of Romeo Palamides rims that I did this too and they looked great. Almost like magnesium. No pics.

  20. I spoke to pat at Real Rodder wheels, super nice guy.. He suggested 15 X 8 , with a 4 5/8" back spacing. I told him had 15 x 7 chromes with a 4" back spacing. He told a 15 X 8 would look way better out back . So I will run a 15 x 5.5 up front ( Firestones 5.60 x 15) and just going need to figure the correct tire. Jeffrey James has suggested a 8.20 x 15 for the rear. I like the height of 235/75-15 out back. I may need to do a research on highth and width... Dale, I can read a metric tape measure real easy. mm, cm , m , Km.... LOL...

I wouldn't run a bias 5.60 on the front and a radial 235/75 on the rear. I am one of those that had a bad deal years ago mixing radials and bias plys. If you go the 235/75 on the back, go 165 on the front and all will be well. If you bias plys with the 5.60 go with 8.20 on the back. I would go with radials personally, 'cause I like handling and braking and the car is full fendered.

  22. I didn't plan on running radials out back. I like the hight of 235/75-15. What is a good size in bias ply ? That match that size? 8.20 x 15, like Jeffrey suggested.

I'd go with the magnesium Real Rodders Wheels.

  24. I don't think they have those in production as of yet, from what I read on the Real Rodder web site... Sold my o.t. car today, so I'm going to be placing a order in the next week or so.. Still thinking as cast, or polished.. Whats the opinions on the plates they sell for the rears ? Dale, I would ship them to you but you need to finish that 34, no detours ! LOL:D

  25. HMMM, so if I buy these and send them to you to perform some "Eddie " magic and it doesn't work . I can count on you buying me a new set for the 35 ??? LOL:D
