Is anyone else that's reading this, imagining he sounds like Arnold Schwarzanegger? Or is it just me?
well you'd have to take a different route, but The Heavy Rebel Weekender is in Winston-Salem,NC july 1,2,and 3. Probably the biggest weekender on the entire East coast and your first point of origin is only 7 or so hours away. shoot straight across tenn to nc on I40. see the beautiful tenn/nc mountains and then spend a weekend full or rockabilly, car/bike show, and so on. to much for me to list here. www.heavyrebel.net should provide any info you need other than the Adams Mark is the closest hotel(1 block), but it's not the host hotel anymore. they do still have rooms available just a bit higher per night than in years past. if your going to be this close and looking for such then you shoul at least plan to come saturday for the day. thats when most stuff like car show and so on happens. you could still just jump on I85 in greensboro and head right to sunny fla...ken....
Ditto! http://www.garlits.com/ Also, there's Pensecola N.A.S. they have a great museum of planes n stuff, its also home of the Blue Angels, so you may see some flying. Obviously you are planning on hitting Graceland & SUN Recording Studio in Memphis too Dave
Memphis... Graceland Sun records Beale street The airport (don't remember the name) where they have Memphis Belle undergoing restoration There's an old restaurant on the south side of downtown that's been there forever. Can't remember the name though.
Come to Orlando and I'll beat your psychobilly *** with a dirty toilet brush, and give you a hair cut with hedge clippers.
In Memphis: Graceland (world's longest-running funeral) Sun Records Beale Street The Peabody Hotel The Rendezvous (best ribs in the world) Call Walker Radiator Works and ask for Vernon. See if there is any way you could check out his neon sign collection at his home in West Memphis. Worth the trip alone. If your trip takes you through Chattanooga, TN stop in at Honest Charley's Speed Shop. You could then head south towards Marietta, GA and stop in at Hank Young's hot rod and chopper shop. JH
thanks a lot, that will be the best holidays. i look for a dealer of 49 chevy parts between memphis and miami? or a junkyard? thanks www.the-hounddogs.com
only 75 miles west of memphis on interstate 40 is the rocakabilly hall of fame and museum, that is in jackson, tennessee. there is a big festival there, also, but i am not sure when it is.
July 5th - The Van Orsdels(great miami psychobilly band) CD release party with headlining act Michale Graves(formerly of the Misfits) at Churchills Pub in miami.
If your trip takes you through Chattanooga, TN stop in at Honest Charley's Speed Shop.
why? not much to see there from what i hear. just a few v-8 bikes and t-shirts. plus if he got turned around thats a **** neighborhood to be lost in, i can vouch for that.
