60 galaxie,heater core

i have a friend with a 60 gal. convert,big block. his heater core went out and it evidently one year only.measures 81/2x81/2 x21/2.any ideas where to find one?our local small town repair says they cant get any thing but 2"core. thank you jack

just looked at carpenters the only thing they have is hoses

 

I found 59 and 61 cores for sale but a 60 is a 1 year size,it might be a low volume seller and no one is making em. You might try taking your measurements and hit your local pullapart and compare other cores that might fit. I was in the same boat with my 60 T-bird until they started making them recently. Good luck.

We used to patch them back in the day they aren't the paper thin **** like they started making in the 70's.

 

I just brought one for my 64 Galaxie from Oreillys for $25

Check a Modine book the 2 1/2 cores Ford called High out put *

 

Check car mags for radiator/heater repairs. I had my '41 done by someone down south. A bit spendy but I knew it would fit.

 

thanks guys i havent seen it yet but the repair shop tid him it is too far gone.we'll keep looking and post here if we find something.
