Call us crazy, but a buddy of mine and I are flying up to minneapolis the middle of next month to pick up my new ride. going to drive it back, hopefully everything goes well. buying me a new family cruiser after being without a car for 6 years or so. going to drive back down I-35 I guess unless someone has other suggestions. wish us luck.
Enjoy your trip. If you can't find a hotel room, you can always camp out in the back of your wagon! It took us 15 hours to get my wagon home last summer. Google maps said the trip should of taken 9, but I went slow and had about a 2 hour delay in Miami. I'll cherish the memory of that trip forever. You may think about having your buddy follow you in another car. It is nice insurance to have in case things don't go as expected.
"Fly in drive home"..you must really believe those adds. Seriously, have fun, and good luck on your adventure.
I don't usually believe them, but I don't really have a reason to doubt the guy. He's been straightforward with everything else, sent pictures of everything and has been honest with everything I've asked. We'll see I guess. I'm kinda nervous but excited at the same time.
Better pray for good weather, middle of february could get crazy snow storms or super cold in minnesota....just a heads up.
That's probably not a bad Idea, I will look in to it. Anyone have any thoughts on taking I-35 the whole way? Good safe place to stop for the night?
Good luck and Hope everything Goes alright! I'm taking a little road trip my self this Saturday to pick up a new member of my family a 52 chevy! Have big plans for her!
flying up friday morning, the countdown has begun. the weather appears to be cooperating, we shall see. wish us luck!
Well, we made it all the way from minneapolis to Texas without a single problem. The wagon performed flawlessly. It was a fun trip. The most excitement we had on the trip was when we stopped in Iowa to see the site where Buddy Holly's plane crashed.
Buddy Holly crash site. Pretty much the only sightseeing we did. It's nice and sunny here today, so I'm going to out and clean her up a little bit, and go for a ride
