Cool Father's Day gift,,,but what is it?

    I got this today,,, :) and it was sold to my kids as a flathead intake :mad: ,,,,and they though dear ol' dad would love it,,,,and I do and wouldn't tell them it wouldn't fit!

    BUT,,,,we all know it ain't a flathead intake,,,,

    What the heck is it? :confused: HRP

    Looks like an old Oldsmobile 6 three deuce manifold.

    i'm gonna say Y-block.
    i have an Olds Edelbrock,and that ain't it.
     
  4. Can't see it well enough to swear to it but Y-Block Ford had the Thermostat housing flat in the front and over all looks like yours. Is it Cast Iron or Alum.?

    yeah y-block.... all i got my dad was a plaque i made on our wood cnc that says #1 dad:eek:

    Definately a Y Block - 272-312, possibly a 239 or 256

    If the paired intake ports are one on top of the other rather than side by side, then it is a Ford Y Block.

    It is a Edelbrock intake and has the numbers 553 below the center mount. HRP

    You know what you are going to HAVE to do now! You will have to build a y-block for your next project, at least you have a super nice intake to build around!!

    One of the best 3-2 intakes for the y block(if you have the smaller heads) Nice find, worth a couple hundred $$, Your girls did good, -The Catholic
