    Hello all,
I've been interested in things old, mechanical, trains, cars and airplanes, round, V or flathead, have been a collector of Jeep's: '55 CJ-5, '68 M-715, '70 J-3000, military trailer and now recently a 1944 Signal Corps PE-197 Hobart Bros. Generator with a flathead 4 cyl. Hercules ZXB engine.

Now I'm not sure what I got into, but this flathead engine, last weekend removed the head to get to the water filled #3 piston and bore, have been saturating the cylinder with WD-40 and today finally got the engine to hand crank over.

As a result two exhaust valves are stuck open, so now I need that hard to find flathead valve spring lifter tool + need to get two tappet wrenches.

I'm hoping an older than me guy could part or let me borrow some tools to finish this engine and get it running or give advice?

Always looking for tools for these old projects.
    Thanks, Mac
