Ive had this car for some time now, but Ive just now been able to build it. Ive had 1 month to restore this car for my wedding and here is the build. Started as this: Motor was locked up and half was in the trunk. Interior in decent shape and came with all new weatherstrip.
Got it home, barely fit on trailer "Too Wide" It sat for almost a year till I had a chance to build it. Pulled motor and cleaned car. Found this behind door panel.
Found out that motor had 7 bent push rods, all lifters stuck and 7 stuck intake valves. Rebuilt top end and now runs great. Trans wored but wouldnt move in D, so I ran some Sea Foam in it and now it will do 50mph but not shift. The more I drive the better it gets.
The car was a rust bucket, so here I fixed the fender vents. Bondo bucket, but hey, I only had a month by myself to do all this. Paint on roof was cracked and wire wheel and a sander didn't work. Larger grinder with 40 grit, took 4 hours. Took off the gun sight emblem and installed a trunk emlem for a cleaner look.
Installed the trim and what nots. "towed out of shop for pics, cant remember why... but it runs and drives".
Here is the final product. I'm waiting on more pics from the photographer. Tinted lights because one was pink. Cake!
I only had two helpers on this build, my fiancé who is now my wife, helped out the night I primed it and then Buckee was there the entire time to lick the sweat off my neck.
Cool build and a nice car! Some of those modern guard dogs are trained in the art of disguise. I noticed it right away of course, but to the novice that Rottweiler would appear to be a young deer. Once it bares its teeth the guise is over!
Buckee? is that a deer? weird pet, but not as weird as the giant moth i had last year. Car looks good thou, only needs a healthy slam now
Just like a dog, he knows his name, he know the word "no" and he follows me everywhere and is not afraid of power tools.
Awesome. Not afraid of power tools is handy too. a dog i had years ago was scared as hell, and would start shakin his skin off when i powered the grinder.
Very nice job!! I dig buck eye...do you plan on doing anything with the info you found and just curious if you put it back behind the panel, i thought to my self how cool it would be if you did and also putting your info about when you rebuilt it and later on down the road someone else finding it!
