2x4 409 Chevy Carbs

    How do you read the date codes? 3804S carb has date code M5, which I would guess is Dec. 65. Other carb, 3361S has date code BK4. Would that be Oct. 2, 64?

    What is range on the value of these? Both have been sitting in dry storage on a motor for 30+ years. They are not frozen, a little dirty , yes. Both have the 1518 tops and 1481 bowls.

    Yep, Phil Reed over there will be able to rattle it off the top of his head.
    Your dates sound right, but they stopped production of 409's in the middle of 1965 so......??? Also, they started using Julian (??) dates on some of their date codes in mid 1962, don't know bout carbs though.
