Great to have you back posting Brian! I really missed following your builds. This car looks like it has a lot of features I need to pay attention to.

soo many good ideas... unbelievable welds!

  3. Brian, this past summer kicked my ass as well. So I've pushed the coupe project back for a while so I can concentrate on insulating my shop and adding heat and AC. You can work here next summer if you like. I'm sure we can work some kind of labor for rent swap out.

  5. Brian Bass -

As I've posted on the HAMB many times before, Lynn Yakel's 5wd was my father's inspiration when he first began building his coupe back in 1954.

My Dad always planned on modifying the body line on the cowl and running a smooth 3-pc. hood on our 5wd ... but could never decide how to best handle the "blisters" on the side panels (to accommodate the front corners of the HEMI valve covers) ... plus keeping the .060 over 392ci HEMI cool (without any louvers) was a bit of a concern.

I'm curious to see/hear how you will address this "issue" on Mr. Wade's Coupe.

The floor and body bracing are just about finished. John Jackson of Not Stock Photography was here in the shop to take some photos of one of my other projects and snapped a few of the Wade Coupe while he was at it.

Here are a few of his shots:

And finally here's a shot I took of it while I had it on the ground.

It's getting closer all the time!

One of the best build threads ever to grace the HAMB. That last shot is so good.

It's a hard task to make something look fast and dangerous while it's parked, and having class. This is an example of having it all.
