what is the weight of a 235/powerglide (1950) combination stock?
replacing it with 350/350 auto from a 79 vette.
just wondering if there is much difference, going in a '50 chev 4dr, that I have had since '67

  2. My specks show transmission is 240lbs and engine is 630lbs

Chevy small block V8 575 lbs with iron heads and intake
Chevy small block V8 535 lbs with iron heads/alum intake
A Turbo 350 weight is about 125 pounds
Could be wrong but that's what my info shows

Has anyone actually weighed a 235? I had a 302 GMC 302 inline 6 shipped to me.I picked it up at the freight terminal, sitting on the scale minus the pallet weight , was 575 pounds. That's a complete engine with bellhousing ,flywheel starter, generator , intake etc.Maybe the scale was wrong, but ya think it be wrong on the heavy side:D GMC's are supposedly a bit lighter than a 235,just wondering.

A buddy bought a 235 and had it weighed for shipping.
With generator, manifolds, etc attatched is was somewhere around 735 pounds.

just setting it in the frame, it did look a little higher, but just memory, 235 has been gone for 20 years
last time the car ran was 1979
wonder if that corvette rear end could be made to fit?
