Question? I think I know already

I have a chance to trade my 52 Buick Special 4 dr. for a running and driving 53 Mercury Monterey 2 dr. hardtop. Has a flathead 8BA. What do you think. I've got to do this in the next few minutes or I may lose the deal. Should I trade?

I'd do it in a half a heartbeat......but I am partial to mercs and flatheads!

I'd do it in an instant. My mom had a couple of Mercs that were that body style in the mid 50's and I've always had a soft spot for them.

 

I would go for the Merc, but it should have an 8CM vs 8BA.

 

i don't know, but i have a 53 merc that i'm thinking about parting out if you need anthing.

 

Something smells fishy. Why does the guy want to trade the Merc hardtop for a Buick sedan? Is the Merc a pail or what is wrong with it?

 

I am a Buick guy (a**** other makes, too) but the '53 Merc is neat car. All other factors being equal....it would be a wise trade.......in spite of the flathead, not because of it.

Not much of choice in my opinion. Trade a granny car for a potential custom? Duh..

 

They're unloading Mercury right now, will be back in a little bit to tell about the trade and post pics of both cars.

 

I like both cars ... Bet that old buick rides better ...
