I also saw many other Hambers------
including my pal Lippy who had a booth showing off his patented invention that is used by body shops to lift hoods off and on by ONE PERSON and it is slick !!
Sadly I have no photo of it

Good to See You Paul, and Nice meeting Model A John as you always keep good company close at hand. Hats off to Larry for getting around so good I am sure he was sore after that long day.

    Paul,
Thanks for letting us go along on your travels again. Your Posts always make it feel like I was there too. The food looks great. I swear you ought to weigh 350 pounds. I know I would if exposed to that kind of temptation. Take care.

That belonged to a friend of mine named Gordon Brown. He built it in a little garage in wichita. I'll call him today and ask what he sold it for. Its absolutely beautiful.

PF you must have taken those pics on Friday, I see extra stuff in them from what I remember. We made it Saturday early and spent most of the day, always a good time but one of these days I'm going to hunt you down and make an introduction!

    I scored the following goodies:

    • Starbird-Devlin show logo shop jacket (given to me by the friend we stayed with, he won it in a silent auction at that show).
    • magetic rubber jaws for my 6" vice (where else do you find this kind of stuff?)
    • "SW 6th Street" vintage sign from Eudora, KS. (nothing special but nice man cave piece). I paid for this one twice, when I got it and when I left in in a trailer at the end of the earth that I went to with a guy looking for an AD truck bumper...got back inside and realized I set the sign in the trailer. Hiked another mile in the cold and back.
    • small block rams horns that were blasted and painted, great shape for $25
    • 1950 missouri truck tag with the metal date tag. (from Larry the licence plate guy) Dad bought an NOS '62 plate, still had paint in the holes.
    • Dad almost coming to fisticuffs with some guy after asking if his hub caps were 10 1/8 and guy says "I'll pull my d*** out and measure it for you". LOL
    • coupla beers...
    • sore feet...
    • good times!!!

It was a good meet, ive never been, so it was a good first time for me, we just went thru friday from open till about 2, then had to take off to Austin TX, so i could catch my flight home in the am.

I ended up buying some gauges (pictured), a box of 4 nos and 1 used ansen posi shift shifters, a moon column drop, a nice 471 blower core, and what i believe to be a studebaker 3x2 intake that had been modified into a 4bbl. and a pair of chrome reverse rims.

    Everything was resonably priced too.

    Had a good time

I was there on Sat. I didn't end up bringing anything home with me. What was with the 5 wndw and the roadster being covered up with tarps? What was the guy asking for them?

The new owner of the place got the parking problems worked out this year, which was great. The vendors showed up in force - very few no-shows. Foot traffic was high due to the rain (couldn't work outside in the rain and mud).

My car club (Midway Chapter of the Studebaker Driver's Club) had a great time handing out literature and free coffee! That was the most fun 2 days I've had in months. Saw some neat stuff on the tables, and talked with a few guys wearing HAMB shirts. Time well spent. If you haven't been here before BE HERE NEXT YEAR!
