A buddy shows up at my shop today with this intake, carb and fuel pump , A guy he knows was tossing it in the trash and he saved it any info ?? or toss it ?

 

Merc...1950-51....nice it has the four bolt carb....

 

Thanks I did search the ford barn and they called it a Teapot Carb.

 

EAC is '52/53 Merc, but would work on 49-53 Merc or Ford engine

 

Is that a big ol crack under the casting numbers on the intake or just a cobweb?

No cracks at all It is in really good shape

 

The best thing about this manifold is that a Rochester 2GC will fit the 4 bolt base so it can offer improved carburetion over the stock 8BA 3 bolt two barrel on Fords or even to replace the supposededly troublesome 'teapot' that is on it now.
