Hi guys I found this place looking for info on subframe swap on a 57 pick up. Really enjoyed the information and feedback. Because I got it for free I'm putting a Dakota clip with rack and pinion steering on this 57. A lot of work but if LUX can do it, I hope I can. Been a gearhead since I was seven when Hot Rod and Rod and Custom were small paperback magazines.Have done several weird swaps. 454 in a Datsun 240Z, 400 pontiac in Econoline pickup and some circle track racing. Glad to be a part of this forum...Thanks Gerry

Thanks for the welcome. Cut off front frame today and ran out of acetyline. $380 bucks for my big tank. Usually lasts me 3 to 4 years.
I couldn't believe price went so high in 4 years. After cutting it off I think It is going to be a little more complicated than a Camaro swap. We'll see if we can get it close tommorrow and figure out how I'm going to perform this miracle. It's definitely going to take longer then one day.I have to fab
mounts for chev SBC .Dakota Rack and pinion power steering should work fine but may have problem with sway bar.:cool:
