Ron Pellegrini's '68 Buick Skylark "Beware"!

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by buickfunnycar.com, Feb 6, 2012.

  1. Cool old article I was sent recently,I forwarded it to Ron Pellegrini himself, since we still chat via emails...he corrected 2 errors in the article, one I pretty much knew.

    A) Car was NOT Buick-powered...although Ron did etch "Buick" on the Hemi valve covers, lol.

    B) Body weighed 95 lbs (+10 lbs for paint),NOT 951 lbs!

This was the "slipper" ch***is built by Romeo Palamides (of American Racing wheels fame) where the upper and lower tubes were not welded together, rather they were allowed to slip and according to Ron...she was one very ill-handling MOFO!

Just about fed up with it,Ron told me he was determined to either get it downcourse under full power of he'd put it on it's roof trying...and that's exactly what happened...he wrecked it in the lights at one of those 4-wide tracks in Chicago.

He told me right then and there he decided to stick to the 'gl*** business and he hung up his driving suit for good. Enjoy...;)
