Like the title says, looking for lots of pictures of open wheel Model T's with hoods, preferably hot rods. Vintage racer style, salt flat racer ect. Just looking for some inspiration. Thanks, Colin
Here's a mock up I started last summer. 27 Model T with a 29 Model A hood and grill shell on an Model A frame. I raised the T body 2' so the longer hood sides would fit. I had to recurve the hood slightly to fit the T. Wheels are 600 X 16" Sometimes it looks like a hiboy style to me and at others it looks like a tractor.
Royalshifters Lil roadster drove me nuts,... wanted bad to buy it, but it was on the other side of the Nation,.. and my barn was totally full,...... What a cool Hot Rod !!! Who owns it now ????
Very nice rides. I've always liked Gene Winfield's 'The Thing'. Anybody have pictures of coupes with hoods?
Actually I'd prefer to see closed cars! I'm collecting parts for a coupe build and thinking I want a hood on it. Just looking for ideas on what grille/hood combination would flow well, and whether or not my Cadillac 500 would stick way out the sides.
A hood keeps them quessing whats under it... or if ya run a Y-block without Thunderbird valve covers - ya still keep them guessing 27 Whippet... very popular in the 30's & 40's because it was the right hiegth for a T and was larger capacity... oh, Cute? This thread that was to help find the history of the body has turned into a build thread for the hood & windshield http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=431579
My favorite. I went on a hard search to contact the owner, but never connected with him. Car is from the UK. I did get several pictures that show quite a few details thatnks to a fellow member in the UK.
