Just dragged this one home today.

I would guess about a 20 yr old build....showing its wear.

SBC 350 / auto. Has not run in 5 years and has no brakes.

Clean interior but dated. Tires are newish radials.

Plan is to ditch most of the bolt on **** /stickers/stripes and try to make it look somewhat traditional without sticking a ton into it.

Dont really know what I have gotten myself into yet. Need to get it into the shop and get under it...it sits so low it was hard to see much when I went to look at it.

It was all by itself under a cover in a storage unit the the PO was tired of paying the rent on. Apparently he had not moved it in 5 yrs. It was priced right...so I dont think I can go wrong on it.

From the pictures it looks like a solid foundation for a killer kustom. Hope it's just as good underneath. Keep us posted, I'd like to more of this one.

I like it! Good luck! A chop job would do wonders for that car!

^^^^I could use that steering column and wheel. Mine has a late model olds tilt column that needs to go.

Also need inner front fenders if any one has a parts car.

There are 2 48 Plymouths on CL here in Phoenix, both going for around $500. I would love to have the coupe, but the wife said if I don't finish the Cameo soon, its going on CL!

OK all...got it into the shop today and some additional pics. Overall the thing looks better than I expected it to be.

Let me know your thoughts...I have not laid a wrench or rag to it yet.

Thank you guys...looking forward to hearing it run.

  20. Man, that thing looks pretty nice.
They tried to give the seats a somewhat original look.
Original was grey with maroon pinstripes.

Put some better looking wheels on it and a few other minor
things, and should be good to go.

I like those a lot, but I'd like it a lot better with the original dash.

My Chrysler had the "Updated" dash & steering wheel/column when I got it.
They were the 1st things to go.

Yeah...in due time. I plan to go back to a period column / wheel and the proper gauge panel. It wont happen until I rewire the car. I want to see if everything works before I make it not work...

Lost the plastic mirrors, the living room speakers out of the rear deck, two pairs of fuzzy dice and the chrome air deflectors off the doors.

And I fixed the wheel problem for 47 plym out of the parts cabinet.

    Whew...I can sleep now.

Looks like it just needs a little TLC. Fix a couple things done in poor taste and the mechanical issues and you'll be all set for next summer. Wish I could locate a decent/easy fixer-upper to flip for some cash....

Late congrats on the winter project.

Can't beat the stock dash for the art deco look.

Working on my second 48 Plymouth.
