My buddy Rick and his club 'Southern Kentucky Street Rodders' asked the Tennessee poorboys chapter to ride along with them for a tour of Honest Charley's and Coker Tire in Chattanooga TN.

I had a radiator hose on my Plymouth fail about 80 miles from home. Big thanks to my clubmate 'Professor' for hauling me back to the local parts store for a new hose and some coolant.

Sorry for the photo quality, I took some, the wife took some, some with cameras, some with the phone.

Awesome! Loved Honest Charlie back in the day. Great to see the American dream alive and well with the Coker's.

The car collection belongs to Corky Coker, owner of Coker Tire and Honest Charley. The buildings now adjoin (they enclosed the alley between the two) and the buildings take up most of the block.

The warehouse/distribution building and Hot Rod repair shop are also only a few blocks away, all right in downtown Chattanooga. They recently renovated a lot of downtown, it's pretty nice - lots of Hippies though - but it is a college town - haha.

That was a replica of the Marmon Wasp, in which Ray Harroun won the first Indianapolis 500. According to our tour guide Raime, the Indy 500 museum let Corky borrow the car long enough to make a replica from scratch.

The trip was great, I'd recommend it to anyone that lives within a few hours drive or if you're in the area for any reason. We also went to the Tennessee Aquarium and a free music festival that's held Downtown every Friday night, so there's stuff for the family too.

    Gator,
Donald here. Hey next time you guys make a run like that inbox me. If the group will let a non club member fall in I loved to. Here is a pic from my independent run back in 2005.

The guys from Honest Charleys pulled up the "no parking" sign :Dand stuck one of their magnets on the door of my 55' here

I had got up one Saturday morning the wife was working. I grabbed some gas, a Mello Yello, Gum, and a sausage biscuit and hit the road. It was a good time. Guys at Honest Charleys were very cool as well as the Coker side. Here is a pic from a run I made down to Cowan, TN last summer.

Overlook the late model FWD Malibu in the background.

Thanks for the pics. Glad you all had a good time.

    That looks like a blast!

    Why wasn't I invited?

Is the professor still mad at me over the green M&M incident?

Yeah, but I think he's mad at me - haha. I tell you this, he saved my ass this trip.

Tacson, I just tagged along with Rick (FlamedChevy)'s club - I'm sure you (and everyone else) would be welcome next trip. Shit - I'm ready to go back now!

Thanks for posting your pics Gator... We had a blast. A lot more fun than sitting at a carshow. Next time we go we will have a hundred cars if everyone goes that says they want to. I recommend that trip to anyone that it a gearhead. Even my wife had a great time.

I've seen his collection a few times, pretty impressive..although Ive heard that some of the cars are just stored there and owned by other people.
