i love the look on all these kids faces! they were so into this as you could see. i bet they had trouble sleeping at night thinking about their project! way too many distractions nowadays. this is just how i remember childhood, running around in groups with no grown-ups around. athough they allways did seem to know where to find us. kids now-a-days watch things to entertain them self's. back then you had to entertain yourself! if that makes any sense.
Hahaha, I have trouble sleeping at night wondering how im going to work out the next phase and im not a kid anymore!
Didn't really go to plan, bottom arms are too short and wrong angle so I didn't bother taking on the trailing arm style set up on. Back to the drawing board.
Fingers crossed I'll be there. Also my mate have organized a race this year at cooly rocks on, at the big d-bar hill
Phase II brakes. The top cross member was to high, so I've made a new one and tacked it in 50mm lower. Still need to mount the "trailing arms" to the lower cross member.
Psh.. Bitch, that's the gangsta helmet. Cool box build though. Where did you get the design of the brakes from?
This looks like so much fun! I wish they did this around here. Maybe I should organize a race. I love your plans! Has great looks. .
Good on ya, Great looking build Maybe we can set up an international meet for guys that refuse to grow up. Here is a couple pics, and vids of our group of misfits. Bitchin i want to build my son one just for kicks was thinkin about using a wheel barrel as a platform
This is fun! ...and my intent is certainly not to play the spoiler, but a thought occurs. The old SBers for the most part had no suspension, and thus used drag brakes to good effect, I'm just wondering whether with your rear 4-link you aren't going to lift yourself before you drag yourself? I guess it may come down to your gross weight vs strength/leverage ratio & being judicious in your application. I'm guessing you're planning to use some manner of 'shoe' [old car tire tread remnant perhaps] on the drag? Well, keep on keepin' on, & I'll keep watchin', this is a Hoot!
Done a bit more on the brakes, not overly happy or confident with them. Need to find the right length and tension springs to pull the pad back up.
Bit over the brakes, so back onto the body. I get some exhaust pipe bent (they did a shitty job of it) to finish off the rear section. The first pic is what I was going for with the little kind of peak behind the drivers head.
