got a running/driving 90% '31 roadster I've been thinking of selling...problem is after I got it I noticed the ***le says 2S..instead of roadster...anyone run into this before?
Ah...you have a registration nightmare...I'm thinking you'd better give that car to me and I'll try ( sigh ) to get it straightened out.
That's a slick one. Does the vin on the frame match the vin on the ***le? If it does that is what I would worry about and then you could have the car inspected "because you changed bodys on the frame" if you wanted a roadster ***le. Otherwise if the numbers match I'd call it good as they changed bodys around a lot back around WWII. My dad used to tell about going to the wrecking yard in town and getting a sedan body for 15.00 or so and putting on the ch***is of a coupe he had so he could carry his mom and siblings to town a bit more comfortable.
The body description "2S" means 2-seater another old term for roadster, a 4-seater was a touring car or phaeton. These are terms that were commonly used when open cars were the cheapest of automobile production.
