Been gone for 6 mos. or so . . . just catching up. So glad you've found the energy to keep this thread alive, Justin. Haven't been to GJ yet but will get there. Hope your Pop can hang on for a few more years. Fantastic stuff, just love it!
BrerHair, Hey! Thank you man, and for the motivations. Further I go, the further the updates are in between - but it'll be worth the waiting. Gotta pay to play, right? All my time's still bein' spent stacking cash for winter. By the time it starts gettin' warm again though, my hope's to have what's needed to replace the roof and start to get things functional. It's a marathon. <script src="http://connect.facebook.net/en_US/all.js#xfbml=1"></script><fb:like-box href="http://www.facebook.com/pages/Wild-Childs/130345530376900?ref=ts#%21/pages/Wild-Childs/130345530376900?sk=info" width="292" show_faces="false" stream="false" header="true"></fb:like-box>
*Random Programming Interruption* For our friends following the building construction progress - Episode 5: Three-Sixty-Five is now up on The Garage Journal. Beginning on page four (Post #67) - Enjoy Everybody! http://www.garagejournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=105339&page=4 <script src="http://connect.facebook.net/en_US/all.js#xfbml=1"></script><fb:like-box href="http://www.facebook.com/pages/Wild-Childs/130345530376900?ref=ts#%21/pages/Wild-Childs/130345530376900?sk=info" width="292" show_faces="false" stream="false" header="true"></fb:like-box>
You should put a tripod in the corner on some tape marks (to maintain the position) and snap a pic of the shop every so often! It might be kind od cool to put it all together later to see how the shop evolves. The Three-Sixty-Five thing is GENIUS! ~Jason
365 . . . great idea! Love it. Wish I could physically help y'all out Justin. But KC is a long damn way away. You reap what you sow, so I'm certain all this hard work will reap big dividends for you! Sure hope your Pop hangs on long enough to see it all.
Hey friends, Kool thought on the tripod. I'll have to keep my eyes peeled now. I never think about 'em. I've never used one before. Man do I wish I had done that from day one. Talk about a rocky start... Things have come a long way when you think about it like that. Oh hey and Brer, just posted up day II of the Three-Sixty-Five over on the Garage Journal. Have a good one guys.
Glad to see some movement here. I was worried when i saw the trailer box gone and lack activity. I don't live in the neighborhood anymore but I will still drive by occasionally.
Awesome, just stinkin' awesome. Best of luck to you. I might have to come down and stand around some time...wonky neck won't let me do much more than that. Somewhere around here, hiding really well, is a picture I took of that "injector in shoes" thingy at a WoW show way back when...I'm digging around, but it's not showing itself.
Thanks guys. Can't wait to show more progress this year - and to cool my mind down enough to think of some stories to tell. For now, I bide my time. This is one hell of a task friends, but it's all worth it. More comes out of the dust every day. -CCCLXV- <script src="http://connect.facebook.net/en_US/all.js#xfbml=1"></script><fb:like-box href="http://www.facebook.com/pages/Wild-Childs/130345530376900?ref=ts#%21/pages/Wild-Childs/130345530376900?sk=info" width="292" show_faces="false" stream="false" header="true"></fb:like-box>
^Thanks MUNCIE Out of those that know me, few know I had a brother named Greg that got killed. I don't talk about him a lot, but not a day goes by at the shop that I don't think about him. I found some pictures during water damage cleanup that stopped me cold. Not sure if this flick is as kool to you all as it is to me, but this was the koolest guy I ever knew. -CCCLXV- <script src="http://connect.facebook.net/en_US/all.js#xfbml=1"></script><fb:like-box href="http://www.facebook.com/pages/Wild-Childs/130345530376900?ref=ts#%21/pages/Wild-Childs/130345530376900?sk=info" width="292" show_faces="false" stream="false" header="true"></fb:like-box>
Hey thank you, friends. (Oh and hey Brer, I got you back, on the Garage Journal's shop thread, with an episode and some pictures for your thoughts.)
Grim, I'm no master photochopsmith, but I'd be willing to try restoring those shots of your bro (and that C cab shot with the model) if you'd like.
Man, restored shots of my brother would be a gift that would last a lifetime.. You're too kind man. Anything you would be willing to do in your spare time would be much appreciated. Hats off to you brother...
No worries, least I can do. I'll pm you my email, if you can get as high-resolution a scan of them as you can email them to me and I'll try my best.
Hi Grim. It has just taken me 2 nights to read all of this thread. I don't have the words to do justice to your pictures, your story or most of all, your talent as a writer. It seems like I know you and your Pop from reading this. At the very least, I feel like I know what kind of guys you are. Thanks for sharing it with us. I'm going next door now to check progress on the building project. Pete
Hey Tom! Here's a couple of German's 57 bein' built. <script src="http://connect.facebook.net/en_US/all.js#xfbml=1"></script><fb:like-box href="http://www.facebook.com/pages/Wild-Childs/130345530376900?ref=ts#%21/pages/Wild-Childs/130345530376900?sk=info" width="292" show_faces="false" stream="false" header="true"></fb:like-box>
striper, Thank you very much.. The fact that you'd take two days on this, man, I don't even know what to say... I hope you do know this place. I hope that all of you hearing this story will, in some way, keep these people that gave me everything alive.
