What's up everybody! Ok, so I guess this'll be my first thread on here... Anyway, here's the latest thing I've built, a 1953 Panhead Chopper: Getting the heads together, 1948 cylinders with 1956 heads. 1957 Panhead blocks with 1950 Cam cover and Early Shovel type oli pump... Got the cylinders back on... Damn I love those things!
Chopping up the early type Sportster tank, it's getting rid of the tunnel and also get's dressed with a flat bottom. Chopped 1950's Triumph fender. My friend Totte starts with the flake job, still alot more to be done. The 1953 frame getting prepped...
Looks great. Keep the pics coming. I have a rear fender like yours. It appears to be to big around to fit the tire right. Did you modify yours any. Thanks matt
Thanx bro, no if I'd cut it, it would definetly rub the tire, what tire you got? I'm running the Avon 4.00-18" with a 2.50X18" rim.
At the Jokers Car Show two weekends ago. Had to bring it on the Elco' since it has no electrical system still... (And yes we're drunk in this pic).
So this is how it turned out... Pic was taken at the "Pistons Rumble" last weekend. Thanx guys by the way, you guys RULE!
Real nice ride! I'll never get tierd of that style, 18" rear & a short Triumph fender just simply looks great! Thanks for posting.
But I think now that your bike will be your favorite ... Very good job once again ! Is the sportster tank only fixed by the braket in the center ?
The tank was first split open to get rid of the tunnel and then dressed with a flat bottom, in the pic it still has some old mounts I first did for it, however those were cut off in the process. It got some way beefyer mounts now.
that is freaking sweet. it's exactly what i want to build one day if i can ever afford panhead parts. did you get the frame and engine at same time? where did you get the title from?
Nice bike, but how can you ever get anything done in a shop that small? I'd stick a couch and a microwave in it and call it home!
Yeah, Panhead parts is getting FUCKING expensive! Wich suck ass. I still ain't got a Title, I know someone who do though... So it's gonna be mine pretty soon. The Frame was bought with another 1953 Panhead motor to go with it. I had to do alot of frame work to get it as I wanted it to be.
I have a pan myself only mines in about 500 more pices than yours. Looks good love the old skool. bret
I've decided that the swedes and the japanese are conspiring to make the american rod, custom, and chopper scene look like total second-rate shit. Damn you guys!
