My '27 RPU, built it over a decade ago. Kind of like the look of these T's in B&W.

Does anybody have shots of unchanneled coupes or sedans on Model A spec frames? I realise there's been a few in this thread already, but I'm really liking that look.

  11. One more shot of my Model T's frame before it gets torn down and hoisted into the rafters at Mercury Charlie's. And one shot of Charlie himself. We'll be getting back on it after the Round Up.

hey every t fan out there
    here is mine.
i know its not a steel body (haven't come across the right deal when i had the money for it situation)
but i wanted to build a low cost fun street rod while i was up here in school. This is as far as i have gotten so.[IMG][IMG]

I built the frame in one of my classes here at WyoTech (chassis Fab class)
got a narrowed 9 inch ford houseing, speedway 6 inch drop tube axle with four bar set up
    custom made mounts and such
    hand made rear radius rods

The engine is a 283 chevy with a turbo 350 but just picked up a nail head and thinking of putting that in there.

was gonna go with 15 by 15 ryms on the back but rethinking that now
think i'm gonna do 16 by 10 or something like that.

got most of my electrical parts together for it just gotta get a few others.

still got alot more to do but she is gonna be put on hold till june when i get back to oklahoma.

i have an album on here with more shots of the chassis as i was building it.

and alot more picks that haven't made it on here yet [IMG]

let me know what you guys think so far
will post more as i get it done

  14. Cool to see a frame coming together from Wyo-tech student. I think you'd be better off with a 7" or 8" wide wheel. Just one man's opinion. Good luck with it and keep us posted.

Looking good! Hope you don't channel it.....you will be glad you have the extra leg room once you're driving the wheels off of it. A 283 sbc is a great engine.....the nailhead would be cool, but way more $$$, and in my opinion not worth the hassle. I too would also stick with 7" wide or less rear tires, and 5" or less wide front tires. Narrower tires give it a more old time look. Keep up the good work, and keep us posted.

  16. I am looking for the pickup cab back for my T project if anyone can help me locate one let me know good used is OK. I like the one shown in this picture . Thanks

I don't see a pickup cab back  Am I missing something ?

  18. Yeah,
I've got a 327 for my 29 A roaster and a nailhead going in my T. I think the 283 is a great motor choice with much better parts availability and a great vintage look to it. Better on gas, too. Light cars don't need a lot of cubes. Anyhow, it's your car and you should do as you please. I love the 283 angle. nailheads are cool too but tend to be pricier for performance and dress-up goodies and run a little hotter than SBCs, generally speaking. Talk to a few instructors. They'll probably be able to help you make the best choice.

Sorry I posted the wrong picture. But it looks like the one in this picture the rear panel with the rounded corners.

original plan was to channel it but when i got the body and looked at everything decided not to.
i know the nailhead isn't cheap to dress out but i am the kind of person that like them odd engines out there.
    thanks for the encouragement

Heres mine, should be back on it in two weeks to finish up body work and paint. Hopefully it'll be ready for the Showdown in may.
