Got me a chopped (5") model a coupe going together and was wondering about the glide seat (chopped). Anyone have one of these seats in their coupe? I was kinda curious how it looks. Thanks Or advice on something (year make) that would work. I'm not a fan of the van middle seat.

this one was chopped 6" and it looked good, it was a bit tight for me but i am a bit taller than the owner was.. you would have more room in the coupe for leg room and dont use a riser..

For what it's worth, here's a shot of my middle van seat. It cost me $12. It took a little more to re cover it and install tracks on it so it actually slides back and forth, but it was TWELVE bucks!!!

Best of luck with your decision!!

Here's a Glide seat in my chopped and channeled'34 coupe. It's bolted right to the floor so it's not easy to adjust but it fits fine and is very comfortable..

2nd row mini van seats work like they were made for em. 85-90 dodge mini van seats don't have the ugly plastic covers on the sides.

Well, maybe I got the wrong year or something. The van seat I had had some knarley brackets on the side and on the bottom.. It was a pain in the *** to make it work out.. Do you know what year that seat is from? Make and model? Thanks

Your seat looks great !!! I've got early mustang buckets in my coupe now but would love to change it to a bench. Thanks for the idea.

If it turns into more than you want to tackle let me know and I'm sure I can give ya a hand. Unlike Glide all our seats are custom built to your specs.

Believe it or not, pretty much any 90's 2nd row minivan seat will work. I didn't even need tools to remove it at the junkyard. They're on wheels and are removable by releasing the latch. Take the seat home and remove the bottom brackets (along with the wheels). Throw them out.

There will be an arm rest on the seat too. Remove it and throw it out as well. The seat will have odd moldings in the foam. Don't worry about that just yet. There will also be those wierd plastic brackets you mentioned. Once the seat is mounted in the car, they disappear but just to make sure, I had mine painted the same color as the interior (Viper Red).

We took the tracks from a bucket seat (from a donor seat) and mounted them to where the original brackets were (the ones with the wheels that you already removed). The result will be a bench seat that can be adjusted to fit different sized drivers - just like any other car!

When I had the seat recovered, my upolstery guy added a piece of foam which took the moulding shape out of it. We were even able to keep the cup holders which are from the factory. I left the seatbelt holes in the part of the seat where your **** rests so I could run the seat belts.

Should you have any questions, please feel free to PM me. I have a pile of pictures I could send if something seems unclear. It was an easy, cheap alternative to those expensive seats!!

Whoops... I forgot to mention The seat came out of a Dodge/Chrysler/Plymouth minivan. It's getting late. I've been awake WAY too long!!

I like the glide seat. You have more options than a van seat.Mount it on the floor. I added a outlet for a cell phone.

I like the glide seat but it is expensive. I may head to the junkyard this week and have another look at the mid mini van seat.. The one I had before was a major pain in the ***. The glide seat I put in my 32' was perfect. Was just wondering how the chopped one looked. Thanks for all the input.. It helped..
