The truck was a San Rafael,Ca High School Auto Shop Project originally. The engine and trans were literally pulled from a wrecked 59 Vette back in the day, ran an old Solid Duntov Cam, Offy 3x2's, rear axle from a 56 F 100 as was the steering box I believe.

I had been looking for it since the mid 90's until last June I was selling parts at the Goodguys Pleasanton show and I started talking to a guy, he ended up being the guy who bought it.When he told me what he had done to it, I almost puked!

Good find!..You're going to have a blast with your pickup...

my '34 was drug out of a field in '64...got a 283/Powerglide and '57 Chevy rearend....I ran it for 2 years as a DD and on a route for my business from '83-'85....was a great little truck and customers remembered it for years after....great tax deduction too! ...It was getting tired so I tore it down after '85 and used some of the components for a roadster build and will someday put it back together with the hemi/ OD,2" chrome dropped axle, and 9"...right now it is waiting patiently in storage wearing DP90

updates: they got it steering and a column mount installed , finished most of the rust repair on the cab and bed (any spot with the red primer) They currently have the doors off and are going to re-skin the doors. The pedals are in and done. The dasboard is done and ready for gauges, and the bed structure is now very solid.
Here is also a few shots of the firewall

-They have done all of this in less than a month-

Some finned corvette valve covers would look great on that 283. Great truck.

cool truck! I've been looking for one for a little while and I also have a 283 sitting around probably less than 20k original miles. My dad pulled it out of an Impala in '59 and didn't put many miles on it. There's some other parts sitting around I want to steal too, but he thinks he's going to build a '57

:Dyep...no rare speed equipment...no extravigant fabrication, no extremily expensive parts....just a basic quick build that has a nice chassis and drive train,,,,it rules.

Yea Stephen sometimes the rare speed equiptment, expensive parts, make them cost as much as a street rod!
