Well let me start the I have been lurking around here for about 3 weeks and thought I should join up. I got the car bug early after my dad brought home a 50 something Fiat when I was 10. We took out the engine and cleaned it up and finally got it running engine and my older brother learned to drive in it. I re rung my first engine ( a slant six ) in a 62 Dart the next year that dad got for my older sister. We used several gallons of gas to get all the gunk out of the inside of the engine, anyone else used to use gas as parts cleaner ? When I was 15 Dad dragged My Grandpa's 62 Ford Galaxie 500 4 door and said if I could get running I could have it. The plugs were oil fouled so P pulled the valve covers and a quart of oil ran out each cover. I cleaned out the oil return holes, reinstalled the covers and wire wheeled the plugs. 45 minutes later I had it running. I have owned several 67-68 mustangs, a 69 GTX, 46 Ford tudor, 62 Falcon, Old ford F100s. I now restore vintage motorcycles ( just fired up my latest one tonight) as they take up less room in the garage. Our family moved from Michigan to Pasadena in 57 and returned in 59 driving the entire lenght of Route 66 twice, Sweet !! We drove out in a 51 Buick Road master and back in a 49 Road master. I remember mowing over a huge heard of Jack Rabbits in the dessert one night, they were bouncing off the floorboard so loud it sounded like a hundred hammers hitting the floor. Oh well that's enough for now. I really enjoy all the posts and I have a suitcase full of pictures from 1930s to the 70s to get posted as soon as I can figure out how. Ron
