Hello all, I live in Dallas Texas and been around cars and garages for most of my life. Starting my first pre 50's project. I just came across a 1947 chevy fleetline aerosedan and will begin the frame off restoration in the next two weeks. Will post some pics up later of the car as it looks now and pictures of the progress through out the next few months.. Will probably be asking some of yall for some pointers thought out the build...
here is picture of what it looks like now.... i need to replace the frame... the tires are just leanning up against it....
Looks like some nice southwest sheetmetal. Little work on the rockers but what's the rest of the car like, decent? Best of luck with the build and keep us posted on progress. What are your plans for her?
the body is straight, little rust on it. the whole frame is ****.... will have to redo the entire floorboard.. just picked up a running 1977 chevy monte carlo with 79,000 original miles that I will be using as a donor, frame engine and ****** .. got the whole car for 750.00... at that price I hate to take the monte carlo apart but my main project is the fleetline and not the monte carlo.... will post pics soon....
Yes !!! I will be keeping the Visor. it also came with the wraparounds on the front and rear bumpers that I will leave on the car.......
I have a '47 Chevy Fleetline Aerosedan myself and currently doing a frame off resto on it (4-link rear, c-notch, etc). You are welcome to join our site, www.chevybombs.com
