I put a 92 350 chevy truck engine in my 71 C-10,its converted to carb with an edelbrock intake and Im running the original V belt standard rotation water pump. When i installed the intake I used 92 intake gaskets they have a restriction(small hole) on the gasket from head to intake water jacket on the 2 furthest back of the block. Anyway today I got it running doing the 20 minute cam break in and about 12 minutes into it stalled(at 2000 RPM!!) and hot radiator water shot out of the over flow tube big time, probably a gallon.Engine temp according to the stock gauge wasn't real high and I was monitoring it with a laser thermometer seemed like it was in the warmest areas about 190s and of co**** higher around the exhaust, timing is at 12 before. thanks ahead for any help,,,,jim
....but you still have 2 set of water jackets in the front.....and another set in the rear......not even sure that matters 'cause my 383 stroker stays cool with just a set up front.......I would check elsewhere......did you see your t-stat open(from watching the temp gauge)
Thanks I guess I can eliminate the intake gaskets being the problem Im not sure with the thermostat .It shut down and started spraying water every where ,I do have one of those thermostat s that if it sticks its suppose to in an open position..
