Roundup Smashing - - The Commander is back

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by flt-blk, Jun 24, 2005.

  1. I’m back and I have a huge grin on my face.

Some of you may remember back in April my car and Hotwheels' were
smashed the day before the Roundup in Austin. I just got my car back,
and it looks better than before.

I had to buy 3 cars to get 1 nose.
    changed from 55 to 53.
My body guy surprised me with 162 louvers punched in the hood

Don’t ask about the kid’s insurance, I’m still fighting that battle.

Now it’s time to start finishing my new motor and 5sp for the trip to B’ville.

Looks sweet. I remember seeing it at the R/U banged up, shame, but it looks like a really good thing came out of the bad. Congrats on a nice job done. Louvers are killer!

Right on, Tyler! I was just thinking about that the other day, wondering if you got it fixed yet. I've always liked the 53 nose better than the 55 anyway. Good luck on the salt!

Glad you're back on the road Tyler, It looks really good.

I remember flamedabone saying how the front sheet metal for studes was hard to find because they all look similar but most models don't interchange.

    Wow Tyler...
That Car was very cool the way it was.
But a '53 is about as good as it gets...

Hmmm, I think it would have looked better with a 77 Trans Am shaker scoop sticking through the hood but glad to see the ol' girl back together! :D

  20. Thank you everybody, it's good to have her back on the road.

If all goes well with the new motor, I will be at B'ville. I guess I should start calling on a hotel, saving money, and hording sun block.

I have both, the other one was in the back seat wrapped in paper from the chrome shop. Thanks though.

    Yes definatley

I will be at the drags, and I'm giving beatnik a run for his money this time.

I'm gunning for Big Ric at DOTD in Temple too.

Great to see it back together sweetie. I guess there's something to be said for Michigan's "No Fault" laws. Looking forward to seeing you, and the Stude, in Aug at the Drags.

  24. Very nice. A Stude without louvers is like a day without sunshine.

Sweet, the earlier fronts are so much cleaner...

  29. Looks great man, and the louvers are a nice touch.

Should fit right in out on the salt flats.

  30. Looks a lot better than it did in my pics from the Round-Up. Good move on going to the '53 look too.

Any word on how Reggie made out with his car and with the kid that hit him?
