Any help getting the cross bolt out of the lower a frame on a Jag XJ6 front end will be greatly appreciated. Bought new bushings but the damn bolt won't come out. Have already burnt out the old ones trying to heat the housing, but it still will not budge. HELP

These can be a real b**ch. I also could not get the control arm bolt out. I got the large nut off of the rear, which I assume you have also. I ordered 4 new lower control arm bushings from Rockauto (were the cheapest place I found). I put the new bushungs in the freezer to shrink them as much as possible. Cleaned inside the control arms, removed the old inner sleeve with a chisel. Greased everything I could reach and managed to pound in the new bushings. The crossmember was already in my truck so I did it all laying on my back.
    Hope this helps.

We (my neighbor, it's going in his 52 effie) and I torched the area around the bolt to get it out. We will have a new shaft made and a new tube it goes through. Weld it back in place and replace the bushings. Looked to me like the bolt was thoroughly seized in the tube so it would never come loose. I am an expert welder so this will not be a problem.

That sounds like the best way. I tried on mine to even get into a press with not much success . Decided that the lower bushing were not that bad.
I was told that bolt in the center has to be replaced when doing replacement bushings.
