ok,, i am undecided ,but will comment out loud if you dont mind,,,

..i love the modification to the lower cowl body line!,brilliant!... i can go either way on the actual cowl mod you are asking BUT,,here's where i am at... your grille shell looks like it is leaned back (is it a commercial grille?) and the stock cowl line is leaning foward...so i say either have the grille in the same rake as the cowl or modify the cowl to fit the visual line of the grille....(i assume you will not be running NO hood because of the hemi?)

..i'd personally make the rearward line of the grille MATCH the cowl...

Put me down for #1. Didn't even think twice. Way better.

  3. Metal shapes,
yes the cowl will retain all of the stock features on the leading edge. The wedge piece would be added behind the cowl edge features. It's just nearly impossible to mock it up that way without cutting it.

It's a 34 pick-up grill. Yes its angled back, lowered 1-1/4 inches and that's what seems to be looking the best by far. We must have mocked it up 47 ways, with and without a hood, straight up, square, plumb, raked up, down. My chopped 32 shell looked like crap.
The grille placement also allowed a blown hemi, fan, and radiator clearance under a stock A hood.

  7. I think #1 is best keeping all lines vertical.......but if you want to fill in a lil think about using the curvature of the windshield post at cowl down in the lower area to blend in forward a few inches. Hmmmm.......?

When I first looked at it I thought the first pic looked better. I still wasn't 100 % sure why until I saw what you were talking about. I still like the first pic the best. It's your car do what you like and that's it.

Number one for sure. A mentor of mine taught me years ago, "simple is hard". You start moving key body lines around from where they are expected to be on an "A" and it always seems to look wrong.

I am diggin #1 Gonna be a sweet ride !

  24. The cowl and frame rail create an 8* acute angle in pic #1. Because of the rake, the top of the factory cowl is 2" forward of the bottom. Like this " \" . In pic # 2 its only a 4 * acute angle and the front of the cowl is plumb.

Very good description. I see it now, and think that is an improvement on looks. I vote for #1.
