My brother bought my Dad a 72 Gremlin last summer because he had a couple of them back in the 70's. His reaction wasn't quite as dramatic as that one. It was more like "Oh boy! A Gremlin! Thanks?" It's a very nice Gremlin but it's a Gremlin. I bought a nice set of AMC rallyes for it to make it a little sportier. He's warming up to it. My Dad isn't a car guy but hopefully we will start to have a little bonding time with our cars now. It is what the hobby is all about!!!!

That car comes out to the Caffeine Cruisers at Artesia and Hawthorne on Saturday mornings. Nice to know the story behind it.

There was a guy called "Monk". He was the parts manager at Bahr Chevrolet. He had a Gremlin X with the 304. He degreed the cam, ran turbo mufflers, re-jetted the carb and shimmed up the differential so it would hook "posi". The car ran 13:0"s at the track. :D

  8. My dad had a 32 roadster and sold it to join the military in WW2. I asked him if he would like it back, he says "What would I want one of those things for? ... they didnt even have a heater , or side windows."

I've seen this video all over the web, it doesnt get old. Nice to see a Dad that appreciates the past.
