    Hey there,

Im building a 54 chevy 210 2 door, I purchased some new fender skirts for it from the car and truck shop here in Orange Ca. I can't for the life of me figure out how to install them so they are flush and fit just right.
Anyone have some great success with some photos to help me out?
I'd hate to ditch them after all the body work I put into them and the car

    Thanks
    Colin M
PS- Im also looking for the rear exterior window trim if you know anyone who has it!

Yep, if you can post some pictures of the backside so we can see the mechanism they are using, it would help a lot.

GENERALLY, skirts are held in place by a center latch that you move the lever on to make it come down and clamp over the edge of the wheel opening, and that holds the skirt up into place. Most I have seen are round stock, bent so there is a hook on the top edge that goes over the lip on the wheel opening. Once you clamp it tight you jam that lever up against the bottom edge of the skirt to keep it clamped in place.

Sometimes there are a couple of brackets that interlock, one on the forward edge of the skirt and one on the back edge, and these fit into corresponding brackets that are a permanent part of the wheel opening. However, the maker of your skirts may have done things differently.

Ok, I went on line and found some 53-54 Chevy skirts, do your's look like these?

If so, the tabs shown with red arrows go into slots in the wheel opening at the top, or, they may fit behind the wheel opening lip and keep the skirt from moving outward. Then you swing the skirt flush into place and turn the two round prongs (blue arrows) to cinch the skirt tight against the wheel opening. They are bent so they will wedge against the underside of the body when you turn the little handle that is usually in the center of that rod.

Someone will correct me if I've got this wrong but 49-50, 51-52 and 53-54 skirts all look the same untill you have all 3 side by side.

    Hello,

I'm looking for information on how to install fender skirts on my 1954 Chevy 210. I have the skirts with the two hoop for each wheel but I'm unclear on how they are used. I'm unable to pull up any of the pics mentioned above, perhaps because this is an old conversation, but I'm wondering if someone has some input or pics that they've taken of their own. I have been able to get a few pics from the original accessories installation manual but I'm finding them confusing and unhelpful. I'd appreciate any help that someone can offer. Thank you.
