Anybody ever try to run a boat water pump

    on a street or race car? The cam-driven type as used on a fresh-water no-recirculation v-drive. The boat of course has an endless supply of cold water coming in with no recirculation, and the fittings on the boat setup aren't very big, but then again they're about the size of the hole in a thermostat, and the water holes in the front of the block aren't all that big either- will it move enough recirculating warm water to work? Not looking for WAG's or "I think", but BTDT knowledge and experience please- thanks

    I don't think you'll have much luck, the neoprene impellers in the boat water pumps wouln't take the heat of a circulatory cooling system

    I have used the Groco crank driven water pump and it worked great
