Just thought that I would share some pics from earlier today. Been fillin some trim holes and sanding on the body. It still could use some more body work but good enough for now. After I sanded, I rattlecanned some flat black primer to the whole truck and it actually turned out a lot better than I thought possible. Bumper and roof still need to be sanded and primered, it will be done before GG Des Moines. I added a tonno cover a couple of months ago which IMHO really sets the truck off. She's a little rough around the edges but it's mine and I love it and that's what counts.

Give us some details about the suspension and drivetrain.

That truck certainly has "the look".

I have to agree, that is a cool truck and you should be proud to roll it, rough edges and all. I am sure it will get alot of attention at Des Moines. That is a great show, went last year and really enjoyed the location.

can you show us a better pic of the inner fenders, they look polished, I need some ideas for the wagon when I redo it over the winter (if I keep it)

283/350 combo, from what Kool Kat told me, it's a Pontiac subframe (not 100% sure) and a custom frame w/ c-notch from the cab back with a budget airbag setup all around. Additional pinstriping this week.

Saw your wagon last year at Des Moines (I left the drool mark on the window). The fairgrounds are a great place for the show. Anyway, I can get pics of the wheel wells but they are spray painted white and really dirty. Nothing really to show off but you are the second person to ask me about my wheel wells. Weird.

That thing is ***s! Did ya find all those runs I did? :D

Yep kartbreaker called me a nerd and everything fer selling that truck. But it's in good hands.

Sub frame is a '78 Tempest and from the back of the cab back is a cust 2x3 frame with c-notch for the rearend and one for the driveshaft, late model caddy disc brake rearend with a four link. Bags at all 4 corners. An older bag job with 1/4 inch copper line but it works.

1966 283 block with 68 327 dbl hump heads, rams horns, offy 3x2, some shiny **** fer speed.

The inner fender wells are painted with DP40. BIGRIC pinstripped the firewall.

That truck is a cameo (run the vin ). It used to be a monochromatic yellow 90's billet show truck b4 I got it. It was hit in the rear so some rocket scientist welded a back half of a small window cab onto the original cab then they built that rear frame and when I got it it had a mid 90's chevy stepside bed on it, front step removed, smoothed, c-notched sold it fer cheap just to git rid of it.

Keep up the good work Mootz.

BTW the top of that radiator is br***. Git the ol lady to work on polishin it.

Runs? I didn't see anything, perfect paintjob. Knuckle, here on the HAMB pinstriped the upper cowl, BIGRIC did the firewall. I'll try to post some pics of the dash after this week. The striping has been started in green-white will be added before next weekend.

Mootz- You know I've thought that truck is ***s. I liked it better Glossed, but the pinstipin' makes up for the change. As for the cover. I'm on my second Chevy Duty cover, same white as yours. My advice, run two bows to hold it up. My 1st one came with 1 bow, the second didn't come with any as I guess Chevy Duty lost that supplier. Mine caught some rain while parked and had stretched it out.

    Anywho, badest truck in Maryville!

Thanks for all of the kind words. I didn't mind the gloss paint and didn't flat black it for the coolness factor(although I like it better). After I did a little work on the fenders and doors, I didn't like the "spotted in look." Besides, most of the little dents on the truck just disappeared once the paint was flattened :D. As for the bed cover, I was afraid it might sag but haven't bought any bows for it yet, may add them later if it looks like it might be stretching a bit. Do the bows stick up quite a ways? Just curious cause I don't really like that look.

Good lookin' truck. I like the missing hood and the pinstripping on the firewall.
