    Hi

Ive recently bought a bob drake 39 brake/clutch pedal stand to save me some time when converting my 37 ford to juice brakes.

I used the template that followed the kit to drill and cut out the frame and got the stand exact where it should be..
The clutch pedal on my old manual stand is bent so it will have good clearance to the k member but the clutch pedal on the bob drake 39 stand is more straight and hits it just behind the cut out of the frame..
Now i suspect that the travel of the clutch pedal not will be enough...

Has anyone experienced the same issue or is´nt it a issue at all....
I dont want to find out that to short pedal travel will make the clutch impossible to adjust when the body and engine is mounted....

Glad to see you changed the thread ***le. All I can tell you is that this is something that needs to be sorted out with all the components mocked up. That being engine, trans, and body. You need to know where the toe board is,and where the holes in the toe board are.

The clutch may fully dis-engage before the pedal hits the frame.

I don't see how your question can be answered without all the pieces of the puzzle in place. This is why it takes so long to build a car;)

Yes i felt like the ***le was kinda unfair..

    Anyaways

The manual that followed this kit said i should use 1 of the old holes in the frame for the template and drill 3 new ones...There is no other way to mount it if u follow the manual.

The template says it is for 35 to 38 models. So why is there such thing as a template if it cant be used..

I have checked with my old stand and the axle of the pedals are in the exact same place as the new one...I am sure that this is mounted in the right place. But the pedals are different shaped so i ask again if anyone has any experience of this and cant tell me if the pedal travel is enough or if i have to modify the frame or the pedal ???

  4. I'd match the new Drake pedals to be exact as your stock ones and then decide if you need to notch the frame. Meaning same space apart and same from side of frame rail to pedal. Same top down to pivot shaft.

Put two THICK washers between the front of the bracket and the frame and be done with it. DD
