The lines go to connections on either side of the block.

The water "nipple" Closest to the transmission on the inner hasa rubber hose that goes to a "T" on the bellhousing which splits to both sides of the block. Then the outer water "nipple" Has a long hose that goes to the front of the motor which is in the previous picture.

Rocking what? lol This thing has me running in circles lol,

Ok so here is the water pump off of the old motor. See the fitting on the right? There is a plug on the left because the housing is cracked. What hooks up to both of these? Also where would my heater hoses go? So what I am asking is where would the long rubber hose from the trans cooler go? Either the intake or water pump? Would my heater goses go to intake or water pump? Somebody here has to have been down this road before.

Ok I have called and checked just about every y block source I can think of and nobody seems to know. Why is this? For the afternoon crowd. I would like to be able to have this solved today. I just got the truck insured to get the registration up to date.

My 59 has a 223 in it and some parts are similar to the y-block if i had to guess both of those fittings are for heater hoses. Beacause the water pump on my 223 has the same thing.

Actually one comes off of the water pump and the other comes off the thermostat housing.

One other thing i noticed that you were asking about earlier was the non idiot light gauges. I believe they come off of F500 and bigger trucks from 57-60.

I dont really know honestly. If I were you I would go on ebay and pick up an original ford shop manual for your model year. I cant count how many times its helped me already. It comes on a cd so you can browse the whole thing from your computer.

Just looked at the pics more closely, too early to be FMX. I will try and find out more but I am kinda stumped too.

Well an old timer/friend of mine came in today and told me that I just have to hook up the hose to the water "nipple" on the waterpump because it needs pressure. That is what I will do.

Won't matter... the heater will work in either direction!

Your cooler lines will go to a cooler, or the radiator. if you don't have a radiator that has a built in cooler, then it had an external cooler. Simple as that. don't try to over think it! :)

Well i gathered some motivation together after some tough hard times. I seperated the trans from bellhousing and now I "Gunked" it and im cleaning everything. Looking to get the motor and trans ready to drop in by mid next week hopefully.

Your cooler/warmer connects to both sides of the engine block, your heater connects to the water pump and your intake. This is the same set up from my truck.

The cooler has two "nipples" for water with hoses on them. The one closest to the body of trans goes up and over the bell housing to a copper "T" that is connected to a "wishbone shaped steele tubing that goes to either side of the block of motor. The outside "nipple" hwith hose is very long and goes to the front of mptor on water pump on the big threaded hole on drivers side. Then the heater hoses one goes on front of intake and other goes on passenger side of water pump.
