Nice, love that gold '32? pickup. That is a bad*** looking piece of machinery. Any chance you can post some higher res. versions.
Don't want to steal your thread, nor start a new one. Just wanted to add a few more pics I took from today's setup. I took my youngest son (7) out of school today and we had a great father/son day. Started it right at McDonald's...then to the Autorama. He helped wax, polish and detail it. At one point in the afternoon he said, "Dad, my legs hurt but I'm not going to let it stop me." He spent much of the day telling me how great his car ('48 Ford Sedan - to be finished when he's 16) is going to be and what it's going to look like when it's in the Autorama. He even said, "Dad, the Couple looks good but my car is going to look better!" Needless to say, it was one of the best days of my life.
Thanx Larry! Love the body work and chop, but I've never been a fan of that style head light - but I must be the only one. Gary
40 years ago I took my boy out of school and took him with me to pick up an Auburn Speedster body and we had a great time. These are special moments and you are teaching quite a cool boy there.
Hi Hotrod1940, thanks for the story. Here are a few pics of my youngest and his '48. It belonged to his Great, Great Grandpa and it was the car my Dad learned to drive. Don't ask why, of the 30+ cars he had to choose from, he fell in love with this one when he was 2...pretty cool. My Dad pulled it out last summer and they started cleaning it up and he will spend at least a few weeks this summer working on it. Plus not having to shower every day and getting to shoot guns every day is also a big plus with spending time with Grandpa! Well, today I get to spend the day with my oldest at the Sacramento Autorama...not a bad life. Have a great weekend/holiday! -Larry
The Iron Fist 36, is that clear coat over the flawless metalwork, or some trickpaint to like it. I see Hollenbeck did the paint thats why im asking.
The out side of the car is just clear over metal. The jams and inside of the car are body worked and painted black. No trick paint or lead just a hammer and dolley. Thanks for all the kind words. Scott
