I recenty bought a pcl flat clear to shoot my edsel with , but the look i want is more of a 60% than a flat , the clear says no more than 2 coats or it will start to gloss , wich i kinda want , but i have concerns that it may start to fog up , has anybody here attempted 3 or more coats of pcl flat clear ???

If you try and gloss it up at all it will zebra on you giving you stripes of a glossy look and stripes of flat. PCL now makes a satin urethane (#2596 and 2597)I would trade in your flat for the satin it lays down nice and drys to a consistent sheen.

    Hey,

PCL stands for Pacific Coast Lacquer, a local paint & solvent company that packages coatings and solvents for the industrial/aero/automotive refinish trade.

Some of their automotive paint products offer good value for the money, but I wouldn't bet the farm on muitl coats of a production clear holding up for long periods in the California sun:(
