1929 Model A - What's its value??

Have a buddy with a complete rust free 1929 Model A 2 door. The car can be driven home. It's not mint but wouldn't take much to get it there. Would be a very easy project since there would be no metal work needed. I feel like this car would pull more money with a chop and fenderless with the drivetrain swapped. I think you get the drift, but what do these things go for in this condition? I have no idea how to upload photos to the HAMB, if you would like one I can email to you.

Coupe or sedan (or roadster for that matter) an without pics, very hard to tell. People's ideas of "could be driven home" and "no metal work needed" vary substantially I've found.

As far as pulling more chopped, swapped, etc. yeah of course, but that also costs money.

 

Anywhere from 2500 to 15k need some pics. Go onto the advanced part of the thread and upload attachments..

 

I think 2 door means sedan. Or at least that's what I call mine.

To the unknowing,
2 door could be describing a coupe.
There is not a such thing as a four door coupe.
Tudor is a two door sedan, squarish style with a back seat enclosed in the cabin
Fordor is a four door sedan, also squarish style with a back seat enclosed in the cabin.

Determine the correct model and search ebay with the correct description under completed listings.

Or, give us some pics once your able to.

Shooter was spot on, it'll be worth more, but cost more to do. In the end the net may be less depending on what you pay to have done and the type, condition, and style of parts you put into it.

 

here ya go $10,500 buy it now on ebay. as much as i like sedans they dont pull alot of money, coupes get descent money from time to time for an A with a roof...

 

I'd say here where I'm from $2500-4500 depending on the interior and paint if it's as good as you say. A few years ago it would have been higher, but people are tightening up spending, and the high rollers won't get excited with a sedan.

 

It's a sedan and trust me it just needs a little touch up, really wouldn't even need new paint. The last trip it went on was an 8 hour round trip.

 

That's exactly what it is and complete like that one minus a few interior panels. Except that one is at top dollar because it's mint, my buddies like I said needs touch up. Could be restored by someone without a welder and all the expensive metal tools. Just a sander and spray gun.

Thanks guys for the info, I was thinking it was worth about 5,000 it's been sitting in a controlled garage since 1976 and I believe before that it never sat outside cause it came from a wealthy family. My friend that owns it I guess you could say he is the original owner because it was his dads.

 

So what does the guy want for it?

 

If the owner said "I don't know what it's worth" it'll always be worth more than whatever you offer.

 

A two door sedan Model A is called " a Tudor ". The four door was called a Fordor.

Not sure what he wants but he won't over price it cause he knows it's not a popular model. He doesn't know what it's worth and I don't really either. But I think he could get 5,000 for it after this post because it's in such great shape.

 

that's where lowballing comes into play!

 

For some reason lately i have seen a lot of model a's go for cheaper than i thought they were worth. a guy i know bought two last summer because he got such a good deal on them.

 

Do you know what your friend paid for them and do you know what kind of shape they were in?
