I get it since the hood will be in the sun I think I will just weld it and work it slowly. Not only that the satisfaction factor will be higher. I think I can remeber seeing a car done with adhesive and you guys are correct about the expansion and contraction thing. Thanks again for all of the input gentleman.

I can see the "I'm gonna MIG it" in your eyes all the way from Tennessee. If it ends up too warped up to ever fit a car and you have to go find another hood, then do this.
Go on line and locate some 2024 aluminum 3/4" half round bar stock.
Along the flat side locate and drill and tap lots of #10-28 screw holes about a half inch deep.
Bend to match the contour of hood.
Sand, prime, install with flat washers and nylok nuts, and paint to match.
Go to car show and brag about the custom old school bull nose that you did your self.

More than one way to skin a cat.

I welded one on my '49 Chevy....Took my time, and still wanted to warp (I am not a professional welder)...but I solved it by taking two pieces of 20ga. steel about 6" wide and ~24" long with a 1/4" 90* bend on one side.
You may laugh at what I did next, but it worked great......
I then screwed them in from the bottom side, using self drill screws, cut off excess screw coming thru the top, tacked that screw section to the hood, cleaned it all up and with MINOR filler it turned out perfect ~
    Just my two cents....
    Cheers.........

I'm thinking of making a cross inside/under the hood to give it more strength, so it won't wiggle too much when opening and closing.

Do they have this originally ? (mine does not have one, '53 chevy 210)
