I mean LITERALLY! It had to be upper 90s in the shade! There was TONS of cool stuff to see and plenty of vendors to buy from. Hats off to the Road Rockets for an awesome show!

We rolled in late on Friday to a Harley smoking up the parking lot... it had to be 10:30ish... then a couple of gassers did their thing. I think the burnouts ended after midnight. Heck, even a security guard lit em up!

Our crew had fun... we drove across the street to the 'import crowd' in Chris50's fifty Ford and laid it out right in the middle of all of them. They didn't know what to make of it. We spent a bad 20 minutes mocking their little car show before heading back to the parkinglot. (Later I was heard yelling "why don't you put a fucking stereo in that piece of crap" to the little boomers across the street)

We stayed up until 4:30 admiring the nice assortment of cars already in the lot. And here are some of them...

The first little truck is beautiful. There were 3 guys that think outside the box parked together. Lots of neat stuff on all three.

Then we have Silent Rick's 46 Ford... chopped and channeled running a Desoto HEMI

    Another coool little truck conversion.

    mmmmmmm flakey!

One of the midnight burnout guys

    Gass attack!

be patient... I have more... on dialup...

Neat interior on an early Nova

um... yeah... the Old Skool Rodz posterboy was there too...

Yeah, I was a white man when I went to the show this morning. Now I'm a strange shade of purple. It was damn hot. Great show though. I took a bunch of pictures too but I need to go hook up to the IV for a while and stop my internal organs from looking like dehydrated banana chips then I'll post some up if I can get the damn sizes right.
Got to see Heath, Randy D, Magnet, Django and his kickass 36 Ford, MrGasser, Plowboy and his bitchin Frosty, Nakedguy, Ms.Metal, and got to meet Junkmonger and lots of other cool people.
The three "outside the box" cars you mentioned...I believe all three belong to Jim Linder from Linder Fuel Injection. All neat cars. The bands were good, the beer was cold, and the hotel wasn't. Pictures to come...

My pictures on the lowest resolution are still too big for the HAMB. Oh well, it was neat. I'll try my best to describe the show through interpretive dance the next time I see you all.

This show was a blast!! It was even bigger than last year.
Last year they filled the parking lots. This year they had a
field behind the hotel and it was almost full as well. Aside
from the heat it couldn't have been better.
    Here's some pics.

This guy with the black chevy stripped out a bleeder screw
on his brake cylinder. A friend brought him a whole assembly
from chicago, i think he said. He just had it back together
before I took off. He was a super nice guy and I had a good time
sitting and talking with him and his buds.
Black ford belongs to Django and the red triumph is triumphterror's.
Looked awsome Shoe!! Glad I got to see it.
Had to get a pic with this fine lookin' lady just to piss off the wife.
Maybe she'll come with me next year. muaah haha.

Well that's all for now. Anyone got any objections to some pics
of the pinup contest?? Don't wanna get in any more trub today.

  15. A few of us went from Springfield, Ill. What a Great Show! We had a brake caliper stick on the Dodge pick up as soon as we hit Indy. I want to thank Tom Culbertson for letting us use his jack and a tool or two and even ordering a caliper for us! I know he was busy with the show, but took time to give us a hand. Thanks! It was kinda hot, but I think cold sucks worse! I think everyone survived. Once again, Great Time.

My dad was there in the roadster p/u and he called and said that he had a great time. And yes he mentioned that it was "HOT". Also, does anyone know "Jim" from the Gasoline Alley? My pops met him and he mentioned that he was running on the salt this year. He also met the guy that striped the roadster p/u, but never got his name, he had a 55' Chevy gasser (I think).

Yep...it was a scorcher, but not as hot as it was last year though. I actually stopped drinking beer because it wasn't getting the job of keeping me cooled off. By the time I recovered from Friday night's events, I got to the show about 1pm so I just parked the 60 Impala at the Days Inn next door.

I took plenty of pictures (cars and pinup gals) and will post them after I recover from a day of standing in the heat on asphalt and a night of psychobilly mayhem.

admiring the cars, is that all you did? the contents of the two coolers in the trunks didn't occupy any of your time?

that rainX stuff works. it rained hard enough to wash all the dead bugs off the front of the car, all except for the large one with the lime green guts.

    see you wednesday night?
